Some of the best deviations submitted to the group gallery are copied into the Featured folder!
But don't forget to look around the rest of our gallery - each and every deviation contains some wonderful and meaningful work.
Amur Leopard Story Chaper-1Chapter one
Hunter scrambled down the mountain as the first rays of light shone through the cloud cover overheard. She fluffed out her long fur enjoying the suns warmth. She looked down to the valley in the land below the den. The birds began to chirp with the arrival of early morning.
"Mom wake up its nice outside!" she yelled as she ran back to the den.
Diamond was curled up in her nest with her tail wrapped over her nose. Hunter wiggled under her tail and licked her face.
"You said you would take me hunting today remember?"
Diamond opened her eyes and licked the top of her daughters head.
"Yes little one, we will go hunting."
Hunter ran out of the den while Diamond got up and stretched her legs. Diamond padded out of the den and into the grass clearing. She took in a deep breath of the cool mountain air. It tasted much better than the stuffy air in her den.
"We can start with hunting mice. I'll show you how to stalk, pounce, and kill and then we can try bigger prey," s
My Love For AnimalsThe care for creatures starts with a good heart
Not a passion to purchase them in a mart
Many a person say that cats have 9 lives
Yet I wonder how do they survive
Dogs are no different for they are just as strong
To be honest their bark sounds like a song
Bunnies and hamsters alike are just as cute
Save for the fact that their voices are almost mute
Elephants and giraffes can be big and tall
While snakes and salamanders slither and crawl
Though gorillas and apes may look ugly and large
Worry not they are as light as a barge
If you don't realize how their lives are precious
In the end they will turn quite ferocious
My love for animals is forever binding
To all you people I find them worth loving
Endangered Animals ACEO ProjectSummer is in full swing, and although I am as busy as ever with a new job, dog-sitting, and my summer reading assignments, I've decided to give myself a challenge!
For every day this month, I will be creating one ACEO for a total of 31 cards by August first. Each will feature a different animal that has been listed as either vulnerable, endangered, or critically endangered by the ICUN Red List of Threatened Species.
Day one is the Blue Whale, the largest animal ever to have lived on the planet and a declining species since its intensive hunting which started in the late 19th century.
Be sure to watch my gallery as my project continues! If you have any requests of what endangered species you would like to see from me, please leave a comment.
I would like to give a shout-out to DutchOrca, who's 365 ACEO challenge has inspired me to do a mini challenge of my own. His cards are wonderful and can be seen in his
|I'm changing this simple rule. For favorites; you may submit artwork of any animal. : ) Just for the actual gallery; it has to follow the group rules of endangered/vu/etc.|
Sept 10th: Some quick things.
- REMINDER: Try not to submit to animal of the month, currently we do not do that. This is not because of inconvience for us, but to help you. Animal of the month requires more votes-therefore it takes much longer to get into our group. It's best to submit to gallery folders. If full, let us know.
-GOOD NEWS: As some may know- The Giant Panda is no longer ENDANGERED, but now VU. With that said, I had debated about changing the icon to a new endangered animal...however, I think we will keep the icon as is. (Unless others want to see it change.) This is partially because I feel the GIANT PANDA still gives a strong symbolism to all animals who are VU and endangered. It also shows that with care, attention, and much more, we can bring endangered animals back to a healthy population.
So for now, our icon will stay unless many notes come in. We ARE aware that the panda is no longer Endangered, but just recently changed to VU.
Some memberships aren't showing up in our group I realized. If yours have expired, please go ahead and try again. I also changed the amount of votes needed to 1 to join us now.
Anyone is welcome to join, just hit the join button at the top of the page!
Join requests are automatically accepted.
Gallery Submission Guidelines!
You can submit any artworks of which the main subject is an endangered animal.
Please be sure that at least one of the animal(s) featured in your work is an endangered species* before submitting your request. You can find it's conservation status out in a few seconds by simply Google searching or checking a site such as: earthsendangered.com or the IUCN Red List.
You can also submit artworks of an extinct species to this group, but they must be submitted to the 'Extinct Animals' Gallery Folder.
The submission limit is 2 deviations per day.
Please submit your work to the correct folder in the gallery, else it will be declined.
Submissions to the 'Featured' folder are not allowed. Admins will move works to that folder if we feel the art is of very good quality.
All artworks are approved by the admins before being shown in the gallery.
* This could be 'Vulnerable', 'Endangered', or 'Critically Endangered'.
Before sending us an affiliation request, please bear in mind that we will only affiliate with other animal/environment/conservation related groups.
If you would like us to promote your contest or project in our journal, then please note the group with the details. However, we will only promote contests/projects which are related to endangered animals.
